Education and Professional Experiences

March, 1977: Graduated from Department of Design, Faculty of Engineering, Chiba University.
April, 1977: Entered the Japan Patent Office.
April, 1981: Appointed as Examiner of Design Examination Department.
April, 1987: Temporary transfer to Household and Miscellaneous Goods Division, Consumer Goods Industries Bureau (previous name), the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (responsibilities included: promotion of traditional craft industries (including "Karatsu Ware", "Yaeyama Jofu", "Ouchi Lacquer Ware", etc., as the METI-designated products); and promotion of improvement of office environment).
April, 1997: Appointed as Head of Design Policy Office (in charge of 1998 Design Act Amendment, etc.).
June & July, 1999: Participated in Diplomatic Conference for Adopting New Act "Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Industrial Designs" throughout the agenda as a representative of the government of Japan.
October, 2000: Appointed as Chief Examiner of Design Examination Department (living goods).
April, 2002: Appointed as Chief Examiner of Design Examination Department (household goods).
October, 2004: Appointed as Chief of Design Division.
April, 2008: Appointed as Senior Director and Chief Appeals Examiner of Appeals Department (Design Division).
October, 2012: Joined Shobayashi International Patent & Trademark Office.
October, 2012: Registered as Patent Attorney (Registration No. 18586).
